Acrylics on A1 canvas, framed in an oak veneer frame.

I'm often asked whether my paintings are of particular places, and in this case, the answer is yes - it's inspired by the Abricotine run in Avoriaz. It's a long cruisy blue (my favourite type of piste!) which comes from the top of the mountain, along the mountain ridge which borders with Switzerland, and drops down into Les Lindarets valley and the Village des Chèvres.

I've always loved this run, and also fell in love with the name, which has me thinking of sunwarmed apricots - giving me the perfect excuse to mix up some gorgeous warm oranges hues to add to this relaxing blue painting.

This piece was painted with thick layers of textured paint, creating an semi-abstract and very evocative alpine inspired scene.
