PURCHASING, SHIPPING & RETURNS

I want you to be delighted with your purchase - hopefully the information below will help you to order with confidence.

Purchasing

How is my payment handled?
Payments are taken through Wix Payments in British Pounds Sterling. We can accept payments from all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, Diners, CUP, JCB and Maestro, as well as payments via Apple Pay. We do not store any of your debit/credit card details.

Can I spread the payment for a painting?
If you would like to purchase an original painting over £150 you are welcome to purchase it in stages. A 50% deposit is payable to hold your painting. The balance can be paid the following month or in two monthly payments of 25% each. As soon as the final payment is made, your work will be shipped to you. Please contact me if you are interested in arranging this.

Please note: this is not a credit scheme, but an informal arrangement made with trust - you understand that a deposit will secure your artwork and you will be required to pay the remaining balance. Usual shipping costs and return policy will apply.

Shipping

I have placed my order, how soon will it arrive?

If the painting is part of an exhibition, delivery will be arranged at the end of the exhibition period - I will be in touch to keep you updated on delivery timescales. If you need the painting sooner, please contact me and I'll do my best to help.

For work not being exhibited, please allow ten working days for delivery. If you need delivery by a specific date, please contact me first to make sure it can reach you in time - I’ll do my best to help. There may be an extra charge for rush deliveries according to your requirements.

Fine are prints are made to order and typically delivered within 7-10 working days.

Can I collect my order from your studio?
Yes, if you would like to collect an original or greetings cards in person, you can select this option at the checkout. Once you have placed your order I will email you and we can arrange a convenient time. My studio is in Esher, Surrey, KT10 (UK)

The exception to this is an order for a fine art print, which will be printed to order and delivered directly to the delivery address you provide during checkout.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping within the UK is currently included for orders over £50. For orders under £50 (greetings cards), there's a small postage fee of £1.95 added at checkout. Alternatively, you can arrange to collect purchases from my studio for free.

How are items packaged?

Each order is carefully wrapped and packaged in sturdy packaging to protect your purchase. I use recycled and sustainable packaging as much as possible.

Do you ship internationally?

It is possible to ship to most locations, although this is not automated on my website. Before you place your order, please email me with your address details and I will get back to you with a delivery quote.

Are import duties payable on international orders?

Some countries may levy import duties or taxes on incoming parcels. I have no control over these, and you will be responsible for paying all duties, taxes and other fees levied outside of the UK on receipt of your artwork.

Returns

What if it arrives and I don’t like it?
I want you to be completely happy with your purchase so I offer a Buy-Back agreement: if a piece is not as you expect, you have 14 days to contact me by email and request a refund.

Once a return has been agreed, you're responsible for packing and arranging return delivery using the same service it was sent to you. Once the piece has been safely returned I will refund your payment, less delivery costs, within 14 days.

After this time, any variation between the image represented and the actual artwork is not deemed a fault and slight inconsistencies will not be a valid reason for return. Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regards to size and colour, but the image you see online may show a slight difference due to variations between browsers, devices and screen settings. Where images are shown in a room setting, these images aim to represent the size of artworks appropriately, but should be used as a guide only - please refer to the product dimensions for exact sizes.

What if my order arrives damaged?
All work is carefully packed and wrapped. If you receive a work that has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 72 hours with a photograph.

Can I return a print?

As my fine art prints are made to order, they cannot be returned. It's really important to me that you are happy with your print, so please do get in touch with any questions or concerns before ordering by emailing hello@madeleinedawsonart.com. Every attempt is taken to accurately represent artworks in the images displayed here with sizes listed and colours shown as accurately as possible. Please be aware, however, that there may be some slight variations in colours according to which browser, or screen you are using. Where images are shown in a room setting, these images aim to represent the size of artworks appropriately, but should be used as a guide only - please refer to the product dimensions for exact sizes.

I think that covers it! But if you have any further questions before placing your order, send me an email or get in touch via the contact form and I’ll be in touch soon with an answer.
