Mixed media on canvas, 50 x 50cm, framed in an oak veneer frame.

There’s something magical about those moments when the light suddenly finds its way through the landscape, illuminating everything around it. ‘When the Light Finds Us’ was inspired by the warmth and optimism of late spring, with vibrant greens and oranges bringing a sense of energy and joy, balanced by softer, more peaceful tones.
I built the painting in layers of heavily textured paint, adding glazes and paint-pen marks to bring certain areas to life. It’s a reminder to notice the light when it appears - and to create a little space for that feeling of warmth, joy and possibility in the everyday.
